Help needed in geting started!

Greetings,

I am new here and new to 3D Printing. I want to build a Mendel 3D printer and need some help with some information.
First if all I am looking for the CAD files of the latest and improved version of Mendel. From what I read so far online the Linear Bearing Reprap Prusa Mendel with Wades Extruder is the best right now out there. And I would like to have the CAD files but don’t know where to get the proper ones.
I have the opportunity where a good friend of mine would print the parts at his workshop where they have an industrial 3D printer, so I would like to use this opportunity but need the proper CAD files. There is so much information online but I can’t filter it, sorry.
Also I read that the Gen6 Electronics is the best right now, is the correct? Can you direct me where to buy it?
The hot end is also something I don’t know on which criteria to select, here I need help again.
The heated bed is clear to me.
Do I need 5 or more stepper motor? And what should I look at in selecting them?
Can also someone give me an exact list of how many and what kind of bearings, washers, nuts and other hardware that I need to get?
For a power supply I can use a PC Power Supply?
Where to get the software?

I apologize for being such a n00b and thank you for your help!

Thanks

eye rolling smiley You didn't specify WHICH type of a Mendel you want to build!

For a Prusa Mendel go here, and for an original Sells Mendel go here.

Also, you don't need the CAD files, what you need are the STL files.
Any 3d printer can print the object from the STL file.

Maybe you could start at the main RepRap page and click a few hyperlinks!

I went with a Prusa 2. I also like the design of the Gregs Accessible extruder in my opinion, dont know if one is better than the other. Im loving my gen 6 electronics. I have my complete BOM listed on my site, let us know which one you pick smiling smiley
