filament proper diameter.

Guys hello again. I am in the procces of creating my own filament and i was wondering what sizes are "the no go" and i should avoid? also the problem with bigger diameters is the clocked extruder (i think at least ) what is it the problem with the smaller one? i mean if i l ll insert 1.5mm inside the tube and adjust the slic3r on the right filament width what would be the problem ? Thanks guys be well.

One of the problems if you get away from the 1.74 and 3mm sizes is that you nedd custom made parts from the extruder down to the actual nozzle tip.

ok other than this . I mean if i produse 1.85mm filament would it be able to be extruded from my mendel or i ll have problems printing with that. ?

Hi,

1.75mm extruder's parts uses 2mm inside diameters.
0.15 gap is not enough for a fluent drive.
For parts, a tight fit is a 0.2mm gap.
Appreciate that friction and heating elements are expanding factors for the filament.
That's why the standard for 2mm holes are 1.75mm.
IMHO a 1.85mm can jam easily.
