How does it attach confused smiley

I am new to 3d printing and I just built a mendel iteration 2 and got stuck on the thermistor and can't figure it out, there is a hole on one side of the block that is opposite the heater which seems like it would be where this would go but I can't see how it is supposed to actually attach and stay there?

That's the right spot. Hold it in place with a wrap of kaptan tape. Be careful not to short the leads.

I see you have a heat cartridge. Where did you get it?

I got this as part of an ebay package deal so I'm not sure where it initially came from
