Homing Issues with x and y

Hi all,

I have my z axis homing correctly but my x-axis and y are another story. The motor drive in the negative direction, which is what I want but the limit switches only stop the motors when they drive in the positive direction. I am using a GenX board from SOC robotics. Any Ideas?

what electronics and firmware are you using? I know on ramps with marlin you can move the limit switchs from min to max and adjust the settings in firmware to home to max

If I'm reading your question correctly, the obvious answer is to move your limit switches.

We are using the SOC GenX board with Marlin4Genx on it and we are using mechanical limit switches. The issue with moving the limit switches is the software sows not recognize that a limit switch has been hit when the motors are driving in the negative (homing) direction and will drive right through the limit switches. I have tried homeing to max and then the motors don't even move when the home button is pressed.

So the problem is that you have your x & y limit switches at the max travel location and you can't get the software to recognize that it should allow moving to increasing values of x & y until the limit switch is hit. Moving to smaller values of x & y should not be inhibited, right?

I'm having the same problem on my z axis (I'm also using Marlin, but it's running on RAMPS 1.4). I have the z limit switch at the upper travel limit, but I can't figure out how to make the software allow downward moves whether the limit switch is hit or not, and prevent upward moves if the limit switch is pressed. Just changing the homing direction does not seem to do the trick.

I figured out that my problem was that I needed to connect the z limit switch to the positive limit switch side, rather than the negative limit switch side. Does your GenX board have positive limit switch connections on X & Y?

Sadly the GenX board only has one location for limit switches.

I have a similar problem, I think that I need to update or modify my firmware software. This is the 1st time I have used this chipset and need to know how to go about changing the software. If you can help a bit. I can do some programing if need'd or modifying it. need how to setup and load or download the software. Setting like save the eerom must be turned off, etc, and endstops as well.
