Bearings

I bought a Mendel 1.5 kit from Blomker Industries and some of the bearings are damaged or not sliding properly. I'm about to buy a new set of linear and ball bearings, but there are so many vendors out there for the 608z and LM8UU bearings. Are bearings from high rep names like McMaster and WM Berg worth buying? They don't have exact size replacements, I could make changed but not sure if it's worth the time. I'm looking at vxb.com out of CA as a cheap vendor.

Any advice for Mendel bearings? (version 1.5)

Have you contacted Blomker about this? They were really good about replacing defective parts (hot end) with my kit. Installation of the linear bearings needs a little care to keep from pushing the balls out when you install the shaft. I polished my smooth rods a little and chamfered the ends as they were not very well chamfered as delivered. This will help keep the edge from catching on the tiny balls in the linear bearing. If some of the balls got knocked out of the linear bearing, it wont feel right.

I'm not sure where to get the linear bearings but high quality 608ZZ ball bearings are available in most any roller skate or skateboard shop.
