Controlled fan for MendelMax 1.5

I'm going to purchase some 40mm fans to mount to the x-carriage of my MendelMax, but not sure how I would hook up a speed control fan to my Arduino..

If you have a ramps setup the D9 connections can be used for cooling while printing PLA.

I'm going to be doing the same thing once I get to that point in the build. I also read the D9 can be used. Here is my question:

Is it possible to connect more than on fan to a ramps 1.4 board?

I'm planning on running PLA for the most part and want to keept the feeder tube cool so I want to put a fan there but I also want to put a fan on the other side with a custom air nozzle to cool the PLA after it's on the platform.

Any ideas?
