Well i prolly should have done this before buying the kit, but i just got my makerfarm prusa i3 up and running. I was just wondering what the communities thoughts on this machine as a whole are
; ups? downs? suggested mods? etc... I am new to 3d printing as a whole so any advice helps.

Hey,

I also got a makerfarm for a small month now,

It was easy to assemble as also easy to learn and as its easy on forgiving mistakes aswell, not that i made many but ye.

Also Colin the owner is very friendly and when talking about warranty his very fast and takes only a day or so,

Print quality well its my first printer and i like it, but ye idk since i cant realy compare it.
I have it most of the time right on measurements with a 0.1mm tolerance.

I do loved the fact that its a complete printer, aka a nice screen and heated bed with a screen fitted nicely in the printer itself,
Kinda would liked a dock for the PSU but ye tongue sticking out smiley

I do kinda do not like there ramps update system, they dont notify or anything that theres a update and dont show whats updated,
I asked him a few weeks ago if he could make a changelog, He liked the idea but if he does it, i dont know, by now he might forgotten it tongue sticking out smiley

As upgrades go just look on thingiverse?

I have that one ^ works great, I did modify the plastic tunnel a tho.

Also this works great ^^
I wouldnt put more then a Kilo, but once you been through some prints you can put another kilo on it since it will be roughly 1.5kg hanging there wich isnt that much of a increase.

Goodluck on your printer ^^

If you didnt understand something, Sorry ^^ I did this post in a hurry and as English isnt my mother Language, I do have to concetrate a little more then i normaly do to get a decent sentence written down tongue sticking out smiley

Funny you should mention the dock for the psu, i have one made in solidworks for my atx psu, i am just in the test fitting stage ill upload it to thingiverse when its done. I already had a chat with colin, and he is great. Currently i am trying to fix the steps for the amount of material extruded. It extrudes about 28 mm when i tell it to do 30. I keep trying to increase the number of steps per mm but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Does anyone have any input for calibrating the extruder?

Well i am thinking its the friction,
Since if you do a line at a point for example 1cm, you retract 1 cm and it seems perfect for me,

and when printing i dont have a problem except the last layer, then it does start to leave gaps on larger surfaces.
