Hello, i am kinda new to this 3d printing. But i have followed it for years.
I want to build my own 3d printer. One that has got my intrest is the prusa i3.
My friend own somekind of high quality printer so i tough i could print the printable parts with his machine. I have google-d alot about which one to choose.
So here is my problem, i dont know what parts to get and how to build it. I found the prusa mendel i3 rework from thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119616)
Does someone know some build guide or sth?
I want to start somewere. Also this is budget build.

[github.com]

The scad files and siome documentations are there. Your first decision is probably to decide on the frame: box or single plate aluminum. There are also other versions out there that are available in kit form.

I think box stile will be cheaper and steadyer. I saw that link bu i dont understand how do you read the codes, or am i just dumb.
Where can you get the electronics cheap?
Here is the hobbyking 3d printer electronics video. They will sell all the stuff very soon. [www.youtube.com]
They mentioned something about reprap also and seem same as the electronics that is needed. Am i right?

You have to use OpenSCAD to generate STL files from the scad files for printing in your friend's printer.

There are many sources for electronics for 3D printers that are better and probably cheaper than hobbyking. Look in the reprap.org for starters. This table is a good start. You can also look in ebay for good deals.

I think i found the perfect set. [www.reprapsource.com]
And also a guy building it [www.youtube.com]
If i could get these parts i would be satisfied. Can someone combine some parts? I think i can work those codes out with my friend. But can someone link a correct parts list. Like the screws and mayby a link to the 3d printed parts i need. A website would be also nice were i could get the parts cheap. If the shop is in europe that would be awesome.
I am sorry if i sound a total newby, beacause i am a one atm. i just need a list. It is soo confusing right now.
If i get the same part i could but it together with the guide that the website gives witch is pretty good.
I think i could find the power supply and few of the rods in Estonia.
Edit, i think i found a electronics kit for reprap drom amazon[www.amazon.co.uk]
Will this work?

Download the whole distribution from github. If you're not sure how to use OpenSCAD to generate the STL, you can use the default box version that's located in the /boxframe/sample_stl folder. These were generated for use with parts and printer settings described in the readme.md in that folder. The readme includes a link with instructions for putting together the box frame.

The advantage of learning how to use OpenSCAD is that you can configure the printed parts and I would expect the frame to the vitamins (not printed parts) that are available to you and to the size of the print volume that you want.

Disclaimer: I haven't built a Prusa3 myself. This is what I understood from looking at the github files.
