Prusa & Slic3r

So yesterday I was exporting a gcode from a file I found on Thingiverse, it must have been pretty big because Slic3r quit on me during the export and now I can't get it to reopen. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Slic3r, and when I click, it'll popup in the dock (Mac) and then quickly disappear, like it's quitting again before it has the chance to fully open. Anyone have experience with this? I've been using the 0.9.9 OSx download that Colin recommends.

Thanks!!!

Im not sure about macs but on windows i know that can happen if the config file gets corrupted. And on windows it is not stored with the program files and is not removed when you uninstall. So my suggestion would be find the config file and remove it (maybe keep a backup encase it isnt the problem)

I've deleted Slic3r from my MacBook. When I re-download and open it, it seems to start opening and then it quits again. I've deleted it again. Part of me is tempted just to go buy a cheap PC.

What I am saying is you likely have not deleted the config file because it wont be stored with everything else

I looked about and it seems on a mac the files are stored here

/Users/Libraray/Application Support/Slic3r/print
/Users/Libraray/Application Support/Slic3r/printer
/Users/Libraray/Application Support/Slic3r/filament

have you removed these?

Yeah, I've tried that but Slic3r doesn't even appear in my library or in application support. I'm thinking there's something preventing it from actually downloading to my computer.

What Mac OS are you running? It's probably not compatible with the latest Slic3r.

Mac OS (not Maverick), Mountain lion I think? Whatever was the most recent before Maverick--I can double check. It was working great until Saturday when it crashed.i was running the 0.9.9 per Makerfarm's suggestion. I did try downloading the newer version, but it did the same thing.

If it's Mac OS 10.5 and earlier, it won;t run the latest slic3r. You have to go back to slic3r 0.8.1 if you're running the precompiled package. Here's the release notes for 0.8.3.

Did you try running Disk Utility?

It says the Slic3r file is fine when I click verify on the Slic3r driver, the actual file (slic3r-osx-uni-0-9-9.dmg) doesn't give me the option to verify (or do anything else with it)
