I'm not sure why I did it, but I bought a lasercut aluminium frame for an air2 printer - it was an ebay bargain
(A bargain that will cost me a few hundred quid to make a printer I don't really need - oh well)

Has anyone built one - modified it - any tips?

I think the design maybe could be improved on.

Mount the motors to the bottom to bring the C of G down?
Mods. to the Y axis/ bed to enable 3 point levelling without losing build height?

You don't hear much about them, maybe there is a reason for that.

I believe user Ohmarinus has one but I haven't seen him around here lately.

Any thoughts? Good or bad, please share them

Ta.

Edit: This printer uses printed parts that fit the Prusa Mendel.I'm sure these have evolved and there are a few variations about.
Any suggestions on best latest thinking would be welcome.

Also, I bought some flanged brass bushes with an 8mm bore/ 10.9 od which I intend to use. If someone has scadded up Mendel X and Z axis parts to suit, let me know!

Thanks.

My local Hackspace has one - we retired it and scratch built a Prusa i3
From what I know about it - it was a pain to "tram" the bed.

I wondered if they were all recycled into i3's!

It has an Alu bed with no adjustment so it would have to be a base for another adjustable bed on top. Good for packing insulation in though.
