hi everyone please help me in this problem am using Prusa i2 uploaded the sprinter firmware and tested by changing the motors, changing the drivers, ramps 1.4 and what not, I tried everything but am still getting the jerking sound can anyone please help me what changes shall I make in Sprinter firmware to get the smooth operation for the printer please help. or is there anything that needs to be done that please tell me

Sprinter is a long time dead...

what axis?

have you set the microstepping jumpers?

have you set the vref current on the stepper drivers?

have you set the step/mm in the configuration?

All axis are showing this problem
no i didnt changed the code of sprinter, i adjusted the vref of drivers correctly, i kept the step/mm as default same goes with the microstepping !!

do i need to change anything in microstepping ?

you should set the microstepping. Without it the steppers are rough and loud and the steps/mm is out by a factor of 16

3 sets of jumpers under each stepper driver (6 pins) all 3 jumpers should be on for 1/16th micro stepping on A4988

Hi, thanks for your suggestion i tried that actually am getting motion in just one direction now not in opposite direction anything i need to do more ?

If your end stops are not plugged in, or are miss configured, this can cause this

send the controller a M119 when no enstops are hit, see what it says. Sprinter reply's H or L

they are replying properly when i trigger them manually but it still is not moving in opposite direction

and If you try to move it while end stop is triggered(with your finger)? (ie the logic may be backwards)

no its still not working i even inverted the directions only x and z are homing.

so its only y that causing issues

Is that homing to min or max endsto? where do you have the Y axis endstop plugged in on the ramps?

Heyy thanks for the help it worked somehow endstops pins were after 2nd extruder really thanks man for all your help !! really appreciate it !!
