2 things i need to get rid of in SF40

OK, their are two things that seem to be done automatically that i need to stop... one way or another...

1) Bridging mode ignores the number of extra shells and only does one, this causes shrinkage in those layers and pulls the outer shell in.

2) Some sort of 'solid file' happens intermittently through the part even though i'm using 100% fill. This also seems to use only one shell and causes the same as above.

I need to find a way of ether disabling these 'features' or making them obay the extra shells.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

The extra shells are missing on the bridge layers to guarantee somewhere for the infill to land on, I believe. Or perhaps it is just a bug.

I tend not to use extra shells, especially on 100% fill, then all outlines shrink the same amount.

Number 2 is caused by "bridge in direction of infill" in the carve tab.

Slic3r does bridges totally different and I think it is much better. But it has other issues I am not willing to deal with so I still use Skeinforge.

In current SFACT you have the option to specify extra shells for bridge layers.

But your main problem is probably that you are using a different flowrate for the bridge layers.
So actually you dont have the same width of extrusion specified anymore. And as the aextrusion paths were calculated beforehand SF wont compensate for the slimmer extrusion. So its rather narrower extrusion than shrinkage..
(Shrinkage would have happened before you lay down the second shell, at least most of it...)
