I use Skeinforge41 to create my Gcode and I have noticed that the time to print that it outputs is wildly different to how long a print actually takes.

I have just finished a print that according to SF was going to take 2.28.48 ad it actually took 3.10.00. Can anyone offer any insight into this as I would like to get an accurate timing output so that I know when to come back to my workshop to reset the machine going again

Are you using firmware with acceleration? If so it is the reason for the times being off. You could try this estimator program to get the right times [www.thingiverse.com]

Your reprap has to heat up, and likely uses some form of acceleration. Both of these added times are unknown to skeinforge.

Hmm doesn't seem to work with Windows, I will have to keep guessing. I have been noting the differences and am able to make a reasonable guess but it would be nice to have something accurate
