I am part of a team of students who have been recently allocated a project to design a working granule extruder. As far as I'm aware (to my limited control knowledge) the Skeinforge program allocates the feed and flow rates, but the feed rate is based upon a filament analysis (how much volume of filament going in is presumed to come out).
My question being would it be possible to modify this code rather simply (since this group is not strong in Python) to calculate the feed rate based upon an average volume of granules going into the extruder rather than the volume of filament?
