How do I fix Mesh Triangle

I'm new to this, all the tools, so I may just be missing something here. I created an object with sketchup, exported it as an stl. Then used netfabb to fix the mesh. When I load the file into sceinforge I get the message " Triangle mesh slice intesects itself. I've been trying things for hours but I can't figure it our. Earlier I got something about a hole in triangle mesh. What do I do to fix these?

You did enough boolean operations to have a single piece of solid only, didn't you? If that's the case and it still doesn't work, switch to a CAD which is capable of producing proper STLs. OpenSCAD and Art of Illusion are known to work.

Thanks for the reply but I don't know what you are asking. What is a boolean operation? I know what booleans are I just don't know what it mean in relation to STL files.

Boolean operations are those taking two bodies to make one: union, intersection, subtraction, etc ...

See the OpenSCAD User Manual/CSG Modelling page.
