printing tight circles

Hi All,

I have been struggling with trying to solve a problem when printing objects that have tight circles. Like the fingers on a hand, or holes in an object where a screw will go into.
the problem is when the toolpath has multiple circles, the nozzle is in that tight circle for several sweeps and the extruder is putting out too much plastic and it eventually gets so bad that it hits the nozzle and knocks itself off the build platform.

Is there a way to slow the extruder down or change the toolpath to create fewer lines and/or feed less material when in a tightly curved area?

i have a thread on the makerbot forum as well but have not been getting much help yet..

Any help would be appreciated!

this is the other thread with pics:

We discussed it just in the other thread: [forums.reprap.org]

- change the STEPS_PER_MM setting in your firmware or

- change Skeinforge's E-per-mm setting or

- use an entirely different host software - firmware combination.
