I am talking about an existing CNC controller running Fanuc compatable Gcode where a G4 P?? is a delay

Most CNC machines have configurable M functions but not all of them allow access to the actual gcode Words such as X?? Y?? or P?? for use in those M functions.

Brendan Erwin is going down the same track I believe. He is using EMC, a software CNC control that seem to have a great deal of flexibility that runs under Linux.
I am trying to do the same thing with Mach3 which is a Windows software control. Looking through the customisation documents it does not seem to allow me to read the Pword for extruder sub routines.
You could try chucking an email at the developers of Mach3, or whatever contact point they'd like you to use. The documentation may be lacking, or they may even be interested in future features (though this is rather less likely).|
