Cura 14.03 - Print speed

Hi guys,

I've a strange problem with the newest version of cura, I cannot increase or decrease the print speed when i try to print a vase.

I tried to change:

- Print speed (of course)
- Outer shell speed
- Disable fan cooling
- Disable minimal layer time

To print a very small vase (3cmx3cm) it takes abt 32 minutes and of course too much heat to obtain a quality print.

can you help me?

Have you tried another version to see if it is a version specific problem?

Have you checked the speeds in the gcode file to confirm it is not changing them? The F numbers are in mm/m not mm/s

When you played with the minimum layer time did you try 0?

Can you confirm it is not your firmware limiting the speed.

Can you attach your Cura config to have a look at?

Enclosed my actual config in Cura, I didn't try with older version because i'm lazy...

the F command in Gcode is always the same, I think there should be a setting to slow down the print with thin layer

The only things I found are:
cool_min_layer_time = 5

Which would slow a perimeter only print and with spiralize enabled and it moving the Z every second it could be trying to make each section between the Z moves 5 seconds. I would try 0 and/or 1 to see if it speeds up.

Also this one can cause some strange outcomes. I am not sure if it could effect the print speed but it may be worth disabling to see if it makes a difference.

Already tried without success... to print a 3x3x3 cm vase it takes 32 minutes with 5 in cool_min_layer_time and 31 if i put 0.
A this point i will try with older version and i'll let you know

Maybe upload the model and I can try slicing it with the version of Cura I am running.

If you set the outer shell speed to 0 and set the min layer time to 0 at the same time it uses the print speed of 60mm/s and estimates 17minutes.
