Me and our team have developed a web-app which lets you quickly find and optimize slicer settings for FDM printers. Although it does have some paid features, it is free to use.

The way it works is that it takes some basic information about your printer and material you want to work with, and generates gcodes which you have to print, inspect and validate. It takes 2 - 7 hours to print and validate all 12 test structures and around 10 meters of filament (with 1.75 mm filament), and in return gives you a slicing profile for either Prusa Slicer, Simplify3D or Cura; and confidence that you are using optimal settings for your material and printer combination. Note that in most cases it is only necessary to print 3 - 4 out of 12 test structures to get good results.

The test structures are 1-3 dimensional matrices where each dimension represents a slicing parameter. Here's a render of an extrusion temperature/printing speed matrix.

And here's a photo of the actual printed test structure. Note that it is visible that some sub-structures are clearly better looking than others.
