I just bought a couple of stepper drivers that were advertised as being a straight drop in replacement for the ones that came with my Sanguinololu. The problem is that the new ones use the Allegro A4984 chip and, according to the datasheet it only allows microstepping to eighth steps. My Sanguinololu board came with all three of the jumpers already soldered in place to enable sixteenth steps.
My question is, will there be any problem with just switching out the boards or do i have to remove one of the jumpers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Kevin
Always use the right tool for the job, and the right tool for every job is a hammer.
Note - the above is not true but some days it feels like it's true.
