Help with Sanguinololu commisioning

Hi,

Can anyone help trouble shoot my new Prusa build?

I have a LMU8 Sanguinololu set up and have just powered up, checked all connections before powering, no problems.

Checked how the Axis move and they are all free. I am using the Pronterface software.

The problem I have is how the motors behave.

The X axis works well but only in the + positive direction

The Y axis works well but only in the + positive direction

The Z axis tries but can't seem to move

The extruder motor works well on both directions but the wrong way.

The motors are wired as per the Wiki drawing, Red Blue Green Black

Thanks for any help

Ray

Do you have your end stops connected? They need to be connected for the Sanguninololu to work.

Easy Problem first:

If your motors turn in both directions, but the go (+) when you press (-), you can remedy this by one of two methods.

1. Flip the connector. Most motors the are wired A/A- B-/B will reverse direction when the connector is flipped over.
2. If the above does not work, or you are really anal about how the connectors are oriented, you can modify the motor direction in configure.h of the firmware (At least Sprinter and Marlin).

If the motors only go in one direction, you need to enable software endstops if you really do not have endstop switches, or you need to invert the endstop, again, in configure.h of the firmware.
