Anyne know if this might work with a sanguino board? Here

A lot of things are not available in NZ so we have to make do

Yes. Any SD board designed to interface to 5V (i.e. Arduinos) should be fine. I use a iTead SD/MicroSD breakout module with my Sanguinololu.
