Hot-end resistor not heating!

Hello everyone.

I have a problem with my nearly finished build of Prusa w/ Sanguinololu. The hot-end resistor doesn't heat up! I'm getting 12V across the resistor, but no heat when I set the extruder temperature in Pronterface.

The thermistor is checked, shows correct temperature.

Please help!

If you actually have 12V across the ends of the resistor and it doesn't get hot then it is faulty or the wrong value. Try measuring its resistance when disconnected from the electronics. It should typically be 5.6R or 6.8R.

Yeah, that's what I figured. The meter showed infinite resistance, which means that it was faulty by default or that I managed to damage it somehow. Which seems plausible, might have broken it when I was drilling a hole for the thermistor in the heater block (with the resistor inside being the dumbass that I am lol).

Thanks for replying!
