Need help finding what firmware is on my SL 1.3a
February 13, 2013 10:03PM
So i bought a board off ebay and have no clue how to see what is installed on it. The board says it has a bootloader and firmware on it.Im very new to this and so far I have connected the board to my computer with USB. Nothing else is connected. The red LED comes on and ive gotten it to assign a COM port. I have the ardunio IDE software on my computer and the SL board selected.

Thanks for the help

BTW Running windows 7 64-bit

Send M115 and it should answer with a version string. Arduino's serial console can be a bit quirky, prefer HyperTerminal, PuTTY, Pronterface (enter manual commands to the lower right) or Repetier Host (has a manual mode (?) ).

In case you can't even send something you have to find the baud rate. Typical values are 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200 and 250000. Shortly after a reset, the firmware should send at least an "ok" on it's own.
