end stops (Marlin) not registering?!

I'm trying to program this new chip for my Sanguinololu, and my main problem right now is, I can't get it to read the endstops. when I send m119 it always says they're open, whether I've got one closed or not! How do I fix this?!

I had the same problem and finally realised I hadn't correctly set the fuses in the bootloader.
This site should help [hardwired.cc]

or buy another chip with bootloader already installed.

Same for me too. I burnt the boot loader from arduino using the board that marlin firmware comes with.

I did confirm that if I hold down the reset until it says uploading it will upload fine. I disabled max endstops and inverted my min end stops but can't get the to trigger when I close the connection between signal and ground.
