Connectivity issues

I have sanguinololu 1.3 and I am trying to run the sample Blink LED program. But getting the following errors.

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

My configuration is:
Windows 7 64 bit and I have tried running the program with the same error on Arduino version 22 and 1.0.3

We have followed instructions of copying the sanguino directory under hardware folder. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is your reset enable jumper in place? (between the 644p and the pololu drivers)

Is there a boot loader installed on your 644p?

You have installed the Sanguino driver into Arduino and selected Sanguino as your board type?

Or are you using a 1284p?

Also you can't control the LED on the SL with blink, you would need to add a LED onto an IO pin. The one on the board is always on when power is applied.
