If you are worried about over heating of your stepper motor, maybe you need to try another simple driver IC THB6064AH,which apparently doesn't have the weakness of the 6560.

It's a PWM chopper-type sinusoidal micro-step bipolar stepping motor driver IC.
It supports 8 kind of excitation modes and forward/reverse mode and is capable of low-vibration, high-performance drive of 2-phase bipolar type stepping motors using only a clock signal.

Features
Single-chip bipolar sinusoidal micro-step stepping motor driver
Forward and reverse rotation control available
Uses high withstand voltage BICD process: Ron (upper + lower)=0.4 (typ.)
Selectable phase drive (1/2, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16, 1/20, 1/32, 1/40, 1/64 step)
Output monitor pins (DOWN / ALERT)
Equipped with reset and enable pins
Built-in thermal shutdown(TSD) and over-current detection(ISD) circuit
High output withstand voltage: VDSS=50 V
High output current: Iout=4.5A(peak)
Packages: HZIP25-P-1.27
Dementions:3.6*1.4*0.5 cm
Weight:9.86g

Welcome to discuss this chip.

Looks very neat.

Incredibly well protected, in comparison to existing others -just the few i know.

Took me some time to find only a poor image of the test board and also a very poor schematic which i think its also you who posted these elsewhere. Very interestingly i cant see the any routing to the outputs so i guess middle layers arent shown in that image. Also schematic has some float lines leftovers which dont specify where they lead, so maybe its incomplete?

Can you post better pictures of these again? Test board with internal layers and better resolution and clearer schematic?

Schematic outputs are pulled to gnd through four 10k resistors, how does that work out? Also since its bit bigger current i was expecting clamp diodes there. Arent diodes more efficient, are those required or are some internal ones or something?

Also i cant find this ic for sale anywhere. The homepage should at least point to some world wide distributor list or something like that at least some indications where to find it.

Hello NoobMan,

I'm sorry for reply so late. You can get better pictures from the attachements.

In the picture(THB6064AH ENG Schematic diagram.pdf ), pin1、4 are NC. Pin7 is base of triode. Pin 7 can pull up to VCC or free float. You can refer the datasheet of 6n137.

Questions: Schematic outputs are pulled to gnd through four 10k resistors, how does that work out? Also since its bit bigger current i was expecting clamp diodes there. Arent diodes more efficient, are those required or are some internal ones or something?

Answers: In order to limit the burr of stall, outputs are pulled to gnd through four 10k resistors.By this way, output current is about 5mA.
You'd better add schottky diode there so that it can reduce heat consumption .

Thanks for your question, and welcome to discuss.
