Driver for 42BYGHM810 motor

Hi there

I am the owner of 4 pcs. of 42BYGHM810 ( I think ) and am looking for a driver for the motors.

I am having a little problem finding drivers for the motor, the Voltage of 1,92V and Current of 2.4A is what is bugging me

My plan is to have an Arduino to drive the motors:

Could any of you suggest a useable driver for me?

Your problem is that the 2.4A rated current is rather high for the standard low-cost drivers. However, if you don't need the full torque that the motors are capable of, then these [www.pololu.com] or similar should do (you can pick up cheap clones of them on ebay). You will need a 12V power supply for them.

Would a A4988 also from Pololu work? Have a few of them somewhere

Yes, that would work. The maximum current you will be able to run the motor at before the driver overheats will be about 1A or perhaps 1.2A, so you will get up to about 40% to 50% of the rated torque.

Never connect or disconnect stepper motors wires to the driver with the power connected, and make sure the connections are secure before you apply power.
