Motor Driver 2.3 For Arduino Uno Use. Reuse old hardware
January 22, 2013 06:45PM
I have tethered all the unnecessary pins and low active pins to ground, and linked the Gnd Pin to the ATX supply ground to stabilise the Grounding.
I have tried both HI and LOW settings for the Opto pins cos it could be one or another.
The motor is engaged (´cannot move and hums a little.) but does not move.

I understand it is a two wire system? Pulse and Direction??

I Have looked at other drivers and emulated their code, which is just a Hi/low toggle loop with a delay.

SO:
Is there an arduino sketch out there?

I can see indicator LEDS green and red, but i don't know how to read their meaning... I currently have
A 1B Black
B 1A Green
C 2A Blue
D 2B Red
As seen at [reprap.org] Zapp brand NEMA17
And all the indicators are on...

I would like to know what kind of pulse I need (i have tried 500us pulses, 100ms pulses, and in between)

Touching the step pin with a wire connected to 5V is sufficient. You can step a motor without any software.

If you have this working, you can proceed to use a software doing this task for you.
