I had a successful test using my full bed size of 350mmx220mm. You can see it here:Blog

Thats Impressive!

Quite a unique Design you have there, is it based on any current designs, or is that your own.

Also what material did you use?

ABS 3mm. The design is basically the WhiteAnt 3d printer / CNC machine designed by Patrick Hood- Daniel and can be found at BuildyourCNC. I made the print bed bigger, changed electronics, extruder, etc. I'm waiting on linear rails so that I can replace the y-axis system. I plan to build a heat chamber and other systems in the near future. By the time I'm finished it will be deceptive to call it a WhiteAnt.

Not sure why I only just thought of this to solve the shrinkage issue -

Can you over extrude the first 10 layers to compensate for the shrinkage? How about printing the base with "Baffles" to act as a sort of thermal expansion zone for the first few layers?

The less dense the part is printed, the less shrinkage you will see, right?

Measure once, Cut twice, Print 3 times.
