Hello i have made a printable Filament splicer.
It is presented at [www.thingiverse.com]
I have used a lot of method this one is the best at least for PLA
Let me know what do you think.

Notice that you need a soldering iron with temperature control

Sorry for the late response.
200 Celsius. I have used it only for PLA.
I got repetitive results.

Try to heat both of the ends at the same time squeezing a little bit both PLA ends
