Touch ZPRep (Z Probe Printable)

We really liked the choice of josef prusa (z inductive probe m8), but the change of offset z based on the temperature of the probe was devastating.

At that point we thought of a touch Z probe, while prusa solved with pinda2 a great solution!

ZPRep can be easily mounted on 8mm hole (diameter), is printable, it works on all types of bed, needs a actuator to activate the probe, but its mechanics does not affect ZPRep accuracy up to 1.5mm error (about ;-))
This allows easy design of the actuator to activate the ZPRep probe

A few days and I share step-by-step photo for build, however following the links you can already download the 3d models, see the necessary components.

There is a mistake in the title ... sorry is tiredness.
Can it be corrected?
The right title is this message.

Hello everybody
I delayed a few days for the first ZPRep documentation, this for personal commitments, but only a few days ;-)

I've attached photos to better understand the probe.

Everything is easier than what you can think of, only assembly requires some patience, but we're working on it.

The ZPRep works with normally closed mechanical contact as any NC endstop.

It has a simple led indicator (lit when the actuator activated the probe)

To activate, press the button respecting this range:
From a minimum of 8.5mm to a maximum of 10.5mm (this is the last test).
In this interval the probe have always same precision(and the same offset).

We can conclude that the mechanical precision or anything that pushes the ZPRep not has effect on ZPRep precision (if it respects the interval of push)

The heart of the idea is simply two springs that work against each other ... when the ZPRep is at rest the stem will always be pushed inside the probe, while when the probe is activated, the stem comes out 5mm by closing electrical contact.

As soon as the stem you touch the bed, the contact opens.

Operation and connection is very easy.

To build ZPRep ihe cost without actuator should reach a maximum of 10 euros/dollar, but I think less.

A greeting.

PS:
I want to continue to thank you for all the work that has been done so far.
Thank you so much!!
Without the RepRap project, I would not have much fun.

I'm sorry for my bad English :-) and the low presence on the forum, I am organizing for this.

See you soon
