Extra Cooling
March 01, 2020 12:20PM
I recently did a print that required more cooling than normal. Not wanting to use a desk fan I decided that I would have to make up something to do the job. Photo below of the fan thing cooling a problem print. and a photo of the business end

A small feature that I am quite pleased with is the use of a narrow but deep groove to hold the wires for the fans. The printing 'flash' allows the wired to be pushed in and then helps to hold them.

Thingiverse files, including a PDF with a diagram of the wire routing are at [www.thingiverse.com]

All that air blowing around doesn't cool the bed or the hot end?

The 25mm fans from several inches away do only just enough - the breeze can't even be felt by the other side of the bed. I generally try to not overdo the cooling but some things just need more than an aquarium pump can deliver.
