gen 6 electronics not showing up

Hi, I'm sure this must be posted elsewhere though I havn't seen anyone with this specific question yet.
but I'm having trouble having my pc recognise my gen 6 board,I've used arduino software before and had to install individual boards in order to have my pc recognise them, is there a similar procedure for the ATmega?
Also, I had Processing Verify/Complie my gen6 firmware and there were literally hundreds of undeclared variables, how do you deal with that?

well, just to see what would happen I used arduino's stock drivers and while they were recognised, my board is displayed as a USB serial converter rather than a COM port...

Ok, I managed to find the driver, yay!
but I'm still having trouble with compling stuff onto the sanguino, without that I'm unable to calibrate the printer right? I've a horrible feeling this thread is going to be a solo effort...
