I can do it, but please provide a complete list of the STLs you need printed with links - so that I'm sure of what you want.

I only have grey "silver" ABS at the moment, but I have some white PLA - which one would you prefer ?

I'm in France and I also have access to a laser cutter if it can help.

Contact me via PM to arrange details if you're interested.

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

We can do it in WHITE ABS filament, or black ABS or transparent PLA, as you choose. Very good price if interested, shipping from Turkey what means 7.50€ shipping cost. If interested, let me know by PM for more details.

nonaak,

I have examined the replacement idler part you suggested. It's probably a good idea, it will hold the idler bearing much better.

The only potential issue I see is that the hole for the idler bolt is not centred, have a look at that picture (the new one is the top one) :

Do you think it's a problem ? I can probably fix it by modifying the scad source if you prefer it centred.

Hallo DeuxVis,

Sorry for the late reply, i did a lot of work last days, so i'm a bit tired.

For the idlers
I think its not a problim, i dont now he put the hole outcenter. Maby its for that the thoothbeld is inline for the connection of the carriage connection.
I will ask him on thingiverse way he make it like that.

I belive that you can print it like it is

Thanks

Ok, no problem with delayed answer, I'm going slowly too anyway.

I've printed a few parts, and also maybe found something cheap and strong for the lasercut parts : I gave a try to laser cutting salvaged lcd screen back-lighting plates, which seems to be made of PMMA ("plexiglas") :

There are two possible problems with it :

1) it's 8 mm thick, it should make it stronger but can be a problem if your bolts are too short.

2) one of the sides of the plates is "printed" with a "dot matrix" (zoom on the picture ot see it) which is meant to diffuse light, it makes it not 100% clear but could help if you want to illuminate your machine. I've filmed a few seconds of it being lasercut for the "light show" effect : [youtu.be]

The nice point for you if you are ok with those plates is, I recycled those, so the material costed nothing.

Please let me know if you are ok with the plates on that picture or if I should go and buy a "brand new" plexiglas 6mm plate and cut it.

Hallo DeuxVis,

super cool that firework-laser-cutter hot smiley Burn BURN....
(Was it not a problim to cut diffuse plexigless with a laser cutter?, maby the laserbeam go everyware you don't want)

Yes i like the diffused plexiglass it give a cool effeckt whit color leds.
So yes i will have it, no problim. And for the bolts its not a problim to.
I have all the hardware together now, i have some lineair bearings from HongKong (its not the best bearings, but for the beginnging they are ok).
But do not hurry, just take your timethumbs up.

today i tray my old mendel again, but it is a drama, so muts problims hardware and firmware, not funny anymore.

Not it was not a problem, I put the face which diffuse the light down, this way it will only modify the laserbeam trajectory after the cut is done through the plexiglas.

Hello, sorry I missed your post and the question.

I'm going to ask for the laser cutter power. I think it is a CO² laser, something like 20 or 50 watts. Will confirm.

In the mean time here are a couple of pictures of your parts. The first one show the kind of slight warping I experienced (look at the right foot, it is floating a bit above the bed). Hopefully it is little enough that the parts will still be usable.

2nd picture is the full set, so that you can verify I did not forget a part. I made a few extra jaws and joints, because they seem a bit fragile (some are in blue PLA in the plastic bag).
In the background you can see my pile of failures. I'm gonna send some of that to you, so you can use it to make "ABS Glue" by mixing with acetone, in case you need to repair a part or want to "paint" it - this way it will be the same colour.

By the way which filament diameter will your machine use ? If it is 3mm I'll send you a little length of the same ABS filament in case you want to replace a part with an improved version.

Now I'm waiting for you to confirm here is all you need, and then I'll pack it.

Ok, the local fablab laser cutter I used is an EPILOG Legend 36EXT.

It has a 40W CO² laser. Can cut plywood up to around 6 mm thick, acrylic up to 8mm.

Id also be interested in a purchase if the pricing is in my range. Anybody willing to take on the task please drop me an eMail with "RS Mini Parts" in the subject line to open a dialog.

HarshReality, you should create your own topic for that request - probably in the Wanted or I need stuff made subforums.
