IR Sensor with PEI plate

I'm planning to use the IR Sensor with the following build plate stack.

PEI Plate 0.762mm
3M 468 Adhesive Tape 0.128mm
Glass 3mm
Aluminum heat spreader 2mm

Would the PEI plate be sufficiently opaque or do I need to consider painting the glass or aluminum?

I haven't tried the sensor with PEI plate as a target. I suggest you print a sheet of mostly black paper and test the sensor with and without it between the glass and the aluminium, to see if it affects the trigger height.

Have you tested it? I am also pretty curious as I have a PEI bed stack before committing to the IR sensor purchase.

Not yet. I got distracted with some other projects. I did confirm that others have plugged it straight into a SmoothieBoard and had it work as expected without having to do the mods.
