Auto level probe question (Kossel Mini)

I may just be missing something but I'm confused about auto level on a Kossel Mini.

Mine is pointed towards the stepper labeled as X, should I rotate everything to point it toward Z instead?

I dug out a diagram and instructions that say the switch is plugged into Z-Min but it wasn't clear if the probe needed to be pointed toward the Z-tower or not.

If you mean, how it's mounted on the effector, yes toward the Z (center rear tower). Be aware, the use of a microswitch and a bent wire has been abandoned as unreliable.

Thanks. I may just yank it off then. It didn't seem too stable and I'm putting in a heated bed anyway.
