Hi Andy,
Congrats for your all great work here. Cherry Pi III and PrntQB versions seems to be perfect.
I am a bit indecisive about building Delta or Corexy type 3D printer, but I think I will go for a Corexy and it will be your design. So I will be actively asking for your help in this topic, as I am a newbie in this environment. I hope everyone gets use of your contribution here. Thank you again!
I currently have 5 stepper motors, an LCD screen and five pololu A4988 stepper drivers. I will complete the rest.
1. Which controller board would you suggest? I am planning to get Azteeg X5, is this controller suitable to PrintQB?
Any controller that supports Marlin with core xy kinematics would be fine. Make sure your drivers and LCD are compatible though
2. I saw in one of your posts, that you will change the Z movement just as in the Cherry Pi III with mini V wheels. I am not sure if this was the case. Should I wait for the PrntQB V3, when do you plan to announce the new version? If there is no such case, where can I get Z lead screw nut you use for PrntQB V2?
PrntQB V3 is on a back burner as I have been inundated with orders for my Cherry Pi range (11 built so far)
3. Is any 20x20 aluminium extrusions suitable for your design?
Any 2020 should be fine
4. Is there any advantage of using aluminium rods instead of steel rods? Should they be solid or empty-inside rods?
Any rigid rod or tube will be fine as long as the OD is compatible with the Igus plastic bearings
5. Is it probable to see stretch issue on fishing line, which may cause bad calibration in my opinion.
Spectra line doesn't stretch. It's not a monofilament nylon line it's a braided dacron
I know so many questions hereThey may sound ridiculous for some of you, but I am inexperienced in this area.
I hope you will help. Thanks in advance.

The Azteeg X5 Mini is a 32-bit processor that only runs Smoothieware. Smoothie has CoreXY support, but you will need to configure it versus just grabbing someone else's pre-configured Marlin folder and loading it straight into your 8-bit controller du jour. I do not personally know the maturity level of the CoreXY stuff in Smoothie, so it may be worth checking to make sure that it is working for other CoreXY owners. Smoothie's Delta support is awesome....

used for HBot or Corexy.
Set arm_solution to corexy or hbot in config
and uncomment corexy_homing in config if using homing
Also it is recommended to set
alpha_max_rate
beta_max_rate
to the top speed your steppers can go, as these refer to the actuator speed (the X and Y steppers) which on a corexy can run nearly twice as fast as the requested Cartesian speed when gong in certain directions.

So it means that I will be using 8 bit out of 32 bit controller, if I use Smoothieware with corexy. Right?

Hi,
I m very interested in building this printer.
I m a 3D printer newbie.
Could you tell me what you use as controller?
on more classical 3D printers (mendelmax, p.e.), the controller used is something like that : SainSmart Mega2560 + A4988 + RAMPS 1.4 3D Printer KIT For Arduino RepRap
is it the same for yours?
Thanks a lot

Andy,
I just came across a youtube video of the PrntQB V3 printing... [www.youtube.com]
Are you going to release it soon?
I also noticed that it looks like you went back to using the belts instead of the spectra line. What was your reason behind that decision?
Thanks,
Brent

I think the shopping mall probably sell electronics for Reprap 3D Printers at lowest price on the net.Quote
That's exactly what I used but I bought from AliExpress [www.aliexpress.com]
