Heated bed on Delta mini

Heated bed on Delta mini

I ordered a circular heated bed on ebay, to put on my 3dprinterczar Rostock Delta Mini Pro.

Now I need to take care not to harm the acrylic base, so i am thinking of an aluminium circular plate, on stands, under which I will attach the silicone heater.
Than I will put exchangeable circular glass beds on top to print on.
(I do that with my orca: print on the heated glas, exchange the glass and continue on the next one while the other cools down.)

Has anyone built an heater on this type of acrylic machine ?
How much distance to the base plate ? What insulation between the heater and the base ? What construction ?

Advice is appreciated

Thomas

10mm to 12 mm insulation foam ( the kind they use in wall insulation ) works best ... if you access to glass wool ( 5-8 mm ) that works best

1/4in (5 or 6mm) of cork board works well as insulation.

Beware, many cork boards now sold are not solid.
Pretty sure this is what I used:

Ahh cork,
that is a conveniant idea. It will be nicely shaped when I cut it alongside my bed.

Thanks

I was going to use cheap cardboard for my kossel,
is that insulating enough or should I upgrade to cork?

I used a cardboard box flap under my old Mk2 heatbed as the insulator. It would not reach 100C without it.....
