AUTO BED LVL FT KOSSEL revB

Does any one have the proper steps to configure the ABL with the inductive probe?

my kossel 2020 revB has the probe 10mm forward of the nozzle and left 30mm (center of nozzle to center of probe tip)... when inputting the dimensions into the offsets section on configuration.h and testing it with 10 point grid, the probe only tests from the center to the left side of the bed...i tried to reverse the axis offsets and i get a F,B,L,or R position out of range....

iv been fighting it for days now and to no resolve...

Marlin 1.1.0 RC3
Ramps 1.4

its my only hold up from printing!!!

i know i dont NEED the probe as the bed is flat and paper tested to be good all around the bed, but if i have it, i want it to work !!!

On the marlin 1.1 rc
If your getting probe out of bed.
Then you need to adjust you probe radius.
I should say something like print radius - diameter -10
Something like that. Well change the -10 to the a bit greater then the z probe offset.

Ie. If your z prone is 20. Then change it to -20

It will now probe. Im not sure if this is the correct way to do it but i know it works when you do.
I dont use the new marlin since it seems like they didnt do alot of work with delta printers.

Okay NEW issue!!!

so the auto probing now works as needed... however, after the probing is done, and i start a print, the nozzle slams into the bed ! isnt the probe and/or the MAX Z supposed to stop this from happening ? Also, how do i shut off allowing negative Z ???

Change the probe Z offset.

I.E.

X 10
Y 20
Z -5

If its grinding into the the bed make the Z offset lower. Z-5 becomes Z -4

Keep going lower and lower till its right.
I dont know how your probe is screw in but it could be as low as Z-0.1
Normally i find that most probes are between -0.4 and -2

tried that... i have my offset at 0 and it still isnt working... lower the number ( closer to 0) is raising the nozzle. right? at least thats what printerbot says in the instructional vid to set up a probe..

this is a copy of marlin 1.1.0 RC3 offset section

#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // Z probe to nozzle X offset: (-left) (+right)
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 30 // Z probe to nozzle Y offset: (-front) (+behind)
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // Z probe to nozzle Z offset: (-below) (always!)
// Increase this if the first layer is too thin (remember: it's a negative number so increase means closer to zero)

5 means to rasie the hotend 5mm above where to probe triggers.
-5 means lower it
0 means leave it.

Now its possible that your Z height is wrong.
The probe should drop down about 20mm above the bed.
Probe and then end in the center (or probe stowed location) and be about 10mm from the bed.

The probe one the Delta prints os for bed leveling. Not truly Bed height. So you want your Z height to be correct.
When doing a G29 in pronterface.
It should give you a read out of the probes points.
They should be around 1 Z.
So i.e.
-0.1 -0.1 -0.2
-0.2 0 0.2
0.3 0.2 0.1
Something like that.
If your seeing numbers above 2mm then your height is really off on the firmware

yea iv been messing with it.. i added springs to the bed to make leveling easier, and recalibrated the Z height.. iv figured my offset for the probe to be -.40mm.. so hoping it works.. im about to test it out...

I too have a FT Kossel 2020 RevB. Did you finally get it fixed? I ended up using Rich Cattrell's marlin fork to kind of get the autolevel to work. However, I am printing and using Matter Control, but I am hoping that your settings in Matter Control print better than mine. Mine are OK, but I am hoping for a better quality print.

Thanks in advance,
