I wonder if I could eliminate the rubber bands totally by using a counter weight plus three parallel arms, pivoting at the connection with my carriages. Of course the upper beam of the parallelogram can elongate a little.
This design would keep the extrudrer (s) straight and always aligned with the hot end.
