Could you take a pic of the effector from beneath? I got my nimble installed I’m finding that one the washer/nuts protruding from the bottom interfere with the heat sink fan installation.

I'm not going to be in town until Monday. If Is not to late I will post some pictures when I get home. If I remember correctly I have the heat sink fan mounted up side down for the same reason. I have to double check.

This is the way I installed my heat sink Fan. I did file a lock nut to have room for the heat sink fan. Please let me know if you need any pictures from a specific angle

Yeah, mine's pretty much the same way but flipped because mine's a v2 effector. I ended up modeling a fan duct for the hotend that completely cuts off one corner and it clears fine. I think I'm going to switch to m2.5 button head screws and fiber washers from the bottom and that should clear better.

Hi Blt3dp. Just checking to see how you've gotten the Nimble installed. Are you happy with it ?

I ended up getting some m2.5 button head screws, some fiber washers and half height nuts. I installed them from the underside and used locktite to install the nimble adapter. I can now use the official e3d fan shroud. I have almost 2 mm of clearance. And the nimble itself is awesome, I think it’s a great piece of hardware.

After so much time I finally was able to print with success some models . ( See the attachments). Until In this morning when I try to calibrate the printer and I noticed that the printer Is start skipping some calibration points.I also noticed that when I home the towers the hotend Is moving to the left after homming.
I'm doing something wrong ?

I noticed something similar with mine. You might check to make sure your hotend isn't coming loose from the effector. I noticed my hotend wobbling during a print. Turns out the nut holding it tight to the effector had worked it's way loose. I paused the print and tightened it up and was able to finish the print. Then I went back and put thread locker on it. I haven't had the problem since.

Thank you blt3dp for your help. I checked the hotend and isn't loose. Everything looks fine

There haven't been any changes to the machine have there?

I'd check all the usual stuff like the condition of the belts, I at one point had a belt fail where a section of it was stretched and the teeth were super far apart, probably too high tension. Check their tension too. Check to make sure that the pulleys are still tight on your motors, they've been known to come loose and semi rotate around the shaft.

I suppose it could be adjusting the position due to the calibration, I would watch it when it calibrates. If it skips some points, watch it to see if it triggers either too early or not all. Maybe that will give you a clue on what's going on.

Thank you for your help. I checked what you said and everything looks good. I tried to calibrate with the hotend and bed off and it worked. Where do you think it is the problem ? Thank you

I'd probably check the cabling to the effector again.

Hey alex773, I was wondering what kind of surface quality you’re getting with the nimble. It’s looking to me like the cable on the nimble is slightly flexing my Effector and the layers don’t stack up exactly like I’d like.

Hi blt3dp. Sorry for delay but for the last 6 months I was in and out from town and I didn't have time for the printer. To be honest with you I'm not 100 % satisfied with the surface finish and I have some failed prints. Send me an Stl to print and I will post the pictures

Hi Leif. Thank you for your response. I have my cables twisted and I checked the connections for the cables. The only way to calibrate my printer is to have the hotend off and the bed off. After calibration I turn on the hotend and the bed .

Hi Leif, can you please tell me how I turn the fans off during calibration. I want to try your way, maybe it will work for me too. Thank you

I would think that you would do it in your bed.g

After the M561 I would do something to turn off thermostatic mode on my hotend fan (I'd copy the line from my config.g but set it to H-1)
Something like

M106 P1 H-1

Then at the end, put it back to the way it was but just copying the exact M106 command from your config.g

Hello to everyone.
It's been a year now since I started working ( building) on my printer. It was a long and great journey. This project was not possible without your help and support. The printer is fantastic ( from my shoes ). I still have to do some adjustments and tweaking, to get the perfect print but sooner or later I will get there. I know for most of the people is just another printer but for me Is THE PRINTER. Thank you David for your help and support , for design and BOM. Thank you blt3dp for being next to me and helping me out all this time

Hi, Blt3dp. Did you try to mount the Nimble motor on a gimbal mount to see if any difference ?
Re: Kossel Delta xxl build project HELP
March 07, 2020 10:51AM
I took it off, I believe it was flexing the smart effector slightly and causing layer registration issues. I switched to a bowden hemera and have been getting really clean prints.

The scar on the top of the cube where the nozzle dug in points to some over extrusion, also probably the blobs where your perimeters start on the 2nd print. Make sure you don't have any extrusion multiplies or flow rate multipliers set. I would go through calibrating the e-steps, Triffid Hunter's Calibration Guide

I also noticed that my layers weren't lining up very well. That's when I found the numble flexing the Smart Effector. I'll get some pictures of my Hemera setup.

Thank you blt3dp. I will check the extrusion multiplies . This pictures are your cube Stl. Please take a look on the corners, all are the same. No matter what I was trying out the corners are like this.

I would change your e-steps to 2700, it's what Zesty says is a starting point. I got great prints without having to change them.

Jerk should be 40

Max speed for E is pretty low @ 20 mm/sec

See the changes below

M92 X200.00 Y200.00 Z200.00 E2700 ; Set steps per mm
M566 X600.00 Y600.00 Z600.00 E40.00 ; Set maximum instantaneous speed changes (mm/min)
M203 X18000.00 Y18000.00 Z18000.00 E7200.00 ; Set maximum speeds (mm/min)

Also make sure your slicer doesn't have any jerk or acceleration value settings that are lower than your config.g
