marlin vs repetier and the original java host software w/gen7

marlin vs repetier and the original java host software w/gen7

while I know that the teacup software is compatible with the java host software (and I like the idea of micro layering on the outsides) what about marlin and repetier? As far as I know the repetier software uses it's own host software and I dunno if that uses micro layering.
Marlin is that even compatible with the original software and would it be able to handle microlayering?

Microlayering on the outside, you mean, like the skin feature of skeinforge ? That's more a slicer feature than an host feature (java host combine both afaik).

If that's it, all firmware should be compatible, this feature only needs usual gcodes.


Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.
