plastic in printer

My science club kids take apart printers - among other things. We use some of the steppers etc and would like very much to recycle the plastic from which the printers are made. I don't seem to find typical "following arrows" with plastic type numbers. Does anyone know what kinds of plastic these printers - HP 6xx, 7xx, 8xx etc, Epson, old OKI dotmatrix etc. Thanks, Chuck

... most of the housing parts should be made from ABS, but it's often blended with toxic additives against fire, so be carefully with remelting and reusing them eye rolling smiley

Usually ABS or High Impact Polystyrene for cases/structural. Gears are often acrylic or nylon. There is usually some sort of glass filled plastic on the head.
