material that allows only unidirectional flow

Is there any polymer or other kinds of material that allows only one direction flow
of water+some other chemical ingredient (even when there are slight pressure difference and chemical ingredient difference between two sides)?
I am a physicist not familiar with all kinds of polymer.
Could anyone help me to find out such material. Thanks.

... this shouldn't be (or can't be?) connected to the material ... better search for unidirectional pumping methodes/devices ...

Sounds like a fluidicdiod: Are you working on microfluidic channels?
