extruder bearing idea
February 24, 2007 09:07PM
hey,

i was looking through the extruder page trying to get up to speed on
it, and was examining the brass bearings that need to be made. most
people dont have access to a lathe (even afghan...) and i was
wondering if that could be replaced with skate bearing directly
attached to teh threaded rod with bolts. they're very nice / durable,
easily available, metric, and cheap ($1/ea retail... less bulk)

i know i'm going to try it out once i have an extruder assembled.

If they fit, that'd be good.

Also check out Vik's half-washer technique, which is linked from the page.
