4700uF is a bit over-engineered; I was being safe rather than sorry
when I designed it in. If we're not short of area, why not put two
2200uF in parallel with a recommendation that people only use one
unless they get noise problems?

This is a picture of the elbow power connector I'm using. I had to drill a couple of holes for it. If it were further back, I would have also cut two slots for the two little locking feet to snap into.



Moving it back 10mm would exactly bring the edge of those feet to where the current lead holes are.

Another thought is that it would be nice to extend the pads out so that an old hard drive power connector could also be used. Those don't usually have an elbow, they just directly solder onto the PCB surface.

The tracks could be moved back to accommodate elbows and also long flat pads could be provided on top or bottom to accommodate HD connectors, and then we'd have the best of all worlds.

cool. that sounds good to me... would you please link me to a part # or a datasheet so i can use their exact measurements to make the module footprint?
