HI All, Ok I have built by reprappro Huxley (Sanguinololu) Electronics and installed the lastest host software package with pronterface skienforge etc... All appears to work fine I can home the motors extrude some pla.. so far so good :-)

Then I generated the GCode for the extra few bits for the Huxley.... GCode created, loaded onto unit and it does all the right motions in X,Y, and Z but the extruder keeps feeding and then reversing very very fast - and hence not printing anything :-(

Looked in the generated Gcode and it looks like the G1 command is feeding then retracting the filament, tje E256 followed by E11 then E256 then E11 .... is this right ... what am I missing... sooooo close ... help!

M104 S200.0
G1 Z0.54 F198
G1 X37.92 Y60.62 F960
G1 Y60.82 F480 E4

G1 X39.82 E11.889
G1 Y60.62 E256.197

Sounds like you have a mismatch between the steps per mm setting and the retraction setting in firmware. Probably calibrate steps per mm first then lower the retractions steps till it just barely eliminates strings.
