Noise from extruder motor

Noise from extruder motor

Hi,-

During a print on my Huxley, the extruder suddenly stopped extruding and the extruder motor was "vibrating" with noisy sound. I checked if the motor was dead by connecting it to the Z-drive, but when doing that the motor works, so it has nothing to do with the motor. I then tried to connect the Z-motors to the E-drive, but I got the same behavior with vibrations and noise. I checked the driver current, but its the same as before approx. 0.4V. Does anyone have any suggestions to the problem?

Probably only one coil is being driven, either due to a bad joint or a faulty chip.

What are you using to drive the motors? Try checking the soldering connections around it maybe one broke free (trying to be optimistic) but it sounds like the chip is shot.
