Help - Slice Setting - Skeinforge Profile Problem

I have completed a RepRapPro Huxley - and I can talk to it quite happily using Pronterface (Win 7).
My problem is that when I try and select slice settings from the drop down I don't see any popup to select the correct profile to use. Subsequently when I try and process a STL file the process concludes with the message "0mm Filament Used". The machine is happy to go through the motions of printing, but as promised no filament is used :-((

I am totally stuck! - Please can some bright spark point me towards how to fixing this problem.
